St Teresas Planet E goes viral

St. Teresa’s Institute of Education’s ‘Planit-E’ goes viral

Planit – E was initiated by St. Teresa’s Institute of Education, Santacruz with an aim of extending the boundaries of the routine cultural fests that are hosted by educational institutions across Mumbai. The green highlight of the festival is its distinctive status of being the ‘only all- Mumbai Environment fest’ for schools and colleges. Into its fourth year, it bears the distinguished trademark of an intellectual forum which aims at amalgamating the youth from both schools and colleges in a spirit of healthy competition. This goal is achieved by engaging them in a plethora of activities/competitions catering to different domains of head, hand and heart.

Ranging from rap to jingles and documentaries, November 16 and 17 were a sight to witness. The endlessly flowing stream of creativity of the participants was evident through their views on critical issues facing our very own Mother Earth. As they evolved ways to ‘Plan it’ in a more eco-friendly manner, the hope for a secure green future turned from a distant dream to a reality.

The benevolent sponsors for this fest included Citizen Credit Co-operative Bank Ltd, SOSVA, Avon, Tupperware, RUR Green Life Private Ltd.

Dr. Tanuja Waghmare (Principal, S.T.I.E.) Dr. Giselle D’souza (Organizing Secretary), Dr. Cindrella D’mello (Executive Head), Gloria Borges (Event Organizer) and the entire faculty of S.T.I.E. were the pioneers of the fest.

The word ‘Planit-E’ echoes in the ears of every inmate in the portals of St. Teresa’s Institute of Education. The name itself, is powerful enough to elicit a gamut of emotions that the faculty and the students associate with the festival.
