It was raining steadily this morning in Chandivali, as it had been all night. You could make out that people were reluctant to step out from their homes into the steady downpour. And for a change, while other parties were reluctant to be outside, Congress supporters had no qualms about rallying their workers out of their party offices by 8:30 a.m.
The ones who came early started preparing for their leader’s arrival and their enthusiasm was noteworthy.
Speaking to Spice Enquirer, Dr. Keshar Singh Patil, Congress candidate Arif (Naseem) Khan’s campaign manager, said, “The rains are heavy but it won’t stop our supporters. And do you know why? It is because Khan has worked for them.”
From amongst the supporters present at the rally, one said, “Are the ones who have stood against Khan Sahab think these elections are a joke? He’s been an MLA for 20 years now. It isn’t by any fluke. They should give up all hopes of winning, that is if they have any.”
Then their leader arrived and shortly after, the crowd left on their rally through the area.
